Below are a few personal accounts from people, including myself, who have used or sold one of our light and sound machines.

Using the machine in a hypnotherapy practice

How it all started:

During a conversation with a colleague, the subject of Light and Sound machines came up. He told me that they used Light and Sound machines in their hypnotherapy sessions and that he couldn't imagine doing hypnotherapy without them.

"Light and Sound Machine?" Questions flooded my mind... "What are they? Where do I get one? How do you use them?"

Since my husband, Andy, is much more electronic savvy then me, I asked him to look into these Light and Sound Machines and find me the best one for the most reasonable price. I wanted to know what they were and if they weren't too expensive, I wanted to try one.

His in-depth research (and he prides himself on being thorough, especially when it comes to "gear") resulted in my buying my first Proteus.

One of my NLP clients said "No way will I be able to go into a trance!" LOL after five to ten minutes on the Proteus, I noticed his head bobbing -he was out!

Most of my clients who tried the Proteus asked me where they could get one...so I became a Dealer and the machines sold themselves.

I went a step further and I bought a little DJ mixer and a microphone. I hooked up the mixer, the Proteus, the microphone and headphones (one for the client and one for me) and started doing my hypnotherapy sessions in conjunction with a Light and Sound machine session. The clients loved it!  Not to mention, it was much easier for me to induce trance and they went deeper then they did without the machine.

Another benefit was the unique experience it gave the client. The machine was great because it encapsulated the client in a sensory experience central to my words and suggestions. The headphones blocked out any outside noise and distraction, the rhythmic lights and sound worked their magic on the brainwaves, coaxing them gently and quickly into a trace state and kept them there for the entire session.

Now, I find myself telling others that I couldn't imagine doing hypnotherapy without one of these machines!

On a personal note, I use the machine on myself all the time. I frequently use a Beta program (just the sound) to help me concentrate - when I have a lot of paperwork or research to get through. I also frequently use programs such as "Regeneration P10" or my own "Sleep replacement" program in place of an afternoon nap. 

My dad uses the machine to lower his blood pressure and recently he was in the hospital for a major surgery and used the machine to help with pain management after the surgery. With the use of the machine, he was able to get off the pain medication sooner and he also recovered from the surgery and was released sooner than his doctors expected.

Recovery from Stroke and pain medication addiction.

I am one of Marisa's clients. I can't say enough good things about the Proteus. Just about two years ago, I had a stroke. I had my son bring my Proteus to the hospital and used it every day. I am happy to report that I recovered fully from the stroke and I attribute a great portion of my quick recovery to the light and sound machine. 

I have other unrelated health problems, one of them being kidney stones and gastro-intestinal problems which have been so severe, that the doctors put me on Morphine for the pain. Although I still take the Morphine when the pain is severe, I am able to cut down on the amount of medication when I use the light and sound machine. 

Morphine is a highly addictive drug, which I don't like and so I try to take as little as possible. Some days the pain is manageable and I don't want to take the drugs but my body has these intense cravings. I found that if I use the light and sound machine, the cravings go away.

If the Proteus can help me with my cravings, I'm convinced that it could also be used to help people with substance abuse problems.

Deeper, sounder Sleep

I was having a problem staying asleep at night. I went to a sleep clinic and was told that I was suffering from "Intermittent Sleep Interruption" (Delta waves being interrupted by Alpha waves). I've since bought a Proteus and use it on the sleep program before I go to bed at night and since then I'm sleeping much better and not waking up during the night like before.
